Good to know:
Currency is Swedish Crone, Euro and creditcard is accepteble at most places. During summertime, reindeers moves from east to west and like to stay in heards along the road. Black plasticbags on roadsigns means - Watch out for reindeers!
What you can experience:beautiful sceneries when road is stretching along Umeå River al the way from coust to coust. Start to visit a place called Gammlia in city centre of Umeå. Outdoor museum, showing old buildings, exibihitions, animals and so on. Connected to county museum, sami - exibihitions, picturemuseum, exibihitions with skis etc.. When leaving Umeå, visit Norrfors Salmon stairs 15 km along E12. 120 km from Norrfors along E12 you´ll reach Lycksele, also called "city of Lappland". Here you will find Europes northen most situated animalpark. At the animalpark, Santa Claus has his own house, side by side with the animals. If the sun is shining, visit also Lyckseles outdoor swimming area. 90 km from Lycksele, you find a little village called Stensele. The church in Stensele is one of Swedens remained wooden churches. 140 km from Stensele, you´ll actually be in the mountain area. Highest peek is 1787 meters over ocean. Skiresort Tärnaby will be you first stop along Blue Highway in this area. This is the village were alpine stars such as Ingemar Stenmark, Anja Pärson and Stig Strand comes from. 20 km from Tärnaby is Hemavan. Another skiresort with many slopes and lifts. In Hemavan you´ll be closest to Europes Northenmost Nature Reserve..actually the largest! Kingstrail starts in Hemavan, famous for hikers. Visit also Vindelmountain visitors centre. From Hemavan you drive 70 km along Blue Higway, and then you reach the border to Norway. You´ll notice the border because the design on the roadsigns will change. It isn´t more complicated. From border to the city of Mo i Rana it is about 30 km. If you drive about 40 km extra you´ll reach the atlantic sea and coustline of Norway!! Also, you have been travelling 470 km of Via Baltica Nordica Zone!!

Different kinds of restaurants and places to eat! Some examples with high quality and recommendations; Sävargården in Umeå or restaurant Viktor. Ansia Teepee in Lycksele or Hotel Lapland. Sånninggården or Hemavans Wärdshus in Hemavan Area. Some of them got awards and marks in Guide Michelin.
